Kurt
Irene adopted Kurt from a family in Rhode Island who could no longer care for him. Kurt was a fun, loving Beagle who loved car rides, coffee, howling, and just cuddling. Kurt became blind at age 4 but that did not stop him as he lived to be 12 years old, always hooting and hollering!
Jazmine
Jazmine has always been a little whirlwind of energy and opinions. Irene and her family found her at a pet store in Rhode Island in November, 2009. She has many adventures to tell us… like stealing a meatball off a Firehouse sandwich Jess was eating.
Of course, everyone was too busy eating to notice! Another story was created before a Book Signing at Big Frog, Jazmine ran down the street with her owners chasing her! Yes, she was finally caught…the Book Signing was cancelled!!!!
Bagel
Bagel is a Chihuahua-Beagle mix stray that came to Irene’s door with a friend looking for food and water. Irene’s husband, Peter, fell in love with him so they kept him. Irene found his friend a new loving home that night from the internet.
Harley
Harley is another Beagle mix Irene and her family adopted. She is very vocal, hyper, but a loving dog. She loves to play with her siblings, run, bark, and dig holes in the yard. In the 3rd book, Harley is the Good Witch. She is always bringing a shoe she has torn to the others, drops it in front of them, and waits! What’s up with that? The 4th book was really Harley digging for the Gold Bone after Rascal learned from her and now there is TWO!
Gert
Gert doesn’t have as many stories to tell. She came to Irene by sitting behind her car one day as Irene was backing up from her driveway. Gert met Harley and have become best friends never leaving each other’s side…even eating from the same bowl. People call it sharing but from the same bowl???
Rascal
He has been digging for the “gold bone” since he arrived. Irene and her family found him lonely and in need of food-water by Austin High School in January, 2020. What a present for the new year, especially when he finds the gold bone. Now, I hope he shares!
