Author Bio: All About Irene
Can you imagine an Award Winning Series created in the Quincy City Library? Irene Dolnick saved all napkins the series was written on and typed them onto her friend’s, laptop. This is when miracles happened and life changed for her husband, Peter, and her daughter, Jessie.
Her M.Ed. in Reading and Literacy from Capella University and approved by the University of California taught her the importance of Critical Master Mind Thinking to develop student talents. While at Tides school in Rhode Island, she learned the affect poverty had on student’s academic work. In El Paso, Texas, Irene learned that poverty can be complicated by family issues (genetic or other behaviors).
She entered the El Paso classroom as a Substitute Teacher. There she researched strategies to develop student reading preferences by asking them for their opinions on her series. These were incorporated into her books to improve their enjoyment!
